| We saw yet another superb Presentation Night at the club. Just £15 for a great meal (thanks to Mike Hewton and his team) and hilarious entertainment from John V Kidson who was the warm up act for our guest speaker, Ian Kennett. Great fun for all. Before the club awards Andy Dagger presented Jill Scott with a bouquet for all the work she does for the club all season long. And thank you to Pat Morgan and Dave Tumber working last night behind the bar with Jill to ensure that vast quantities of alcohol were readily available. | In their speeches Andy and club coach Lee Jeffery said that the club had enjoyed a fine season especially with the Academy XV winning the East Kent Cup and the 1st XV going close to promotion. Both said that with hard work and commitment from the players we could be even more successful next season. Lee made special mention of the hard work put in by Ollie Sherratt who had to retire from the game because of a very serious injury a few years ago. Ollie had come to most 1st XV matches and training sessions helping out wherever he could. He had made an outstanding contribution to the success of the club this season. In similar vein Academy Skipper, Moose Murray mentioned the hard work put in by Don Turner for the Academy which included Don coming on as a sub against Faversham and scoring a try. |
